SAZ System requirements and recommended specs | What PC you need to play comfortably and how to choose by tier

Sudden Attack Zero Point (SAZ) is a 5v5 competitive FPS that launches as free-to-play Early Access on Steam on Thursday, July 30, 2026. The officially published system requirements — a GTX 1060 3GB, 16GB of RAM, and 6GB or more of free space — are on the light side for a modern FPS, and even entry-class gaming PCs from the past few years clear the bar. That said, only the minimum system requirements have been published; recommended specs remain unannounced. This article covers the official requirements in detail, where the recommended specs stand and how to estimate them, how to read the CPU, GPU, memory, and storage requirements, and how to think about choosing a PC tier by tier.

System requirements (minimum specs) | GTX 1060 and 16GB of RAM set the bar

Here are the system requirements published in the FAQ on Nexon's official site and on the Steam store page.

The CPU, GPU, memory, and storage figures come from the FAQ on Nexon's official site, while the OS is as listed on the Steam store page. As of July 15, 2026, the requirements section on the Steam store lists only the OS (Windows 10, 64-bit required) under both "minimum" and "recommended."

While the Japanese FAQ labels this table simply as "required specs," the English version of the same FAQ explicitly calls them the "minimum system requirements." In other words, this table is the floor for getting the game to run — not a recommendation that guarantees comfortable play.

Note that the FAQ answer carries a timestamp of September 16, 2025, so its contents may be revised for the Early Access launch on July 30. We will update this article as soon as any changes are confirmed.

What about recommended specs? | Only the minimum requirements are official

As of July 15, 2026, no recommended system requirements have been published officially. The "recommended" column on the Steam store page also lists only the OS (Windows 10) and is identical to the minimum.

So what kind of PC should you plan for to play comfortably? The following is not an official statement but a general rule of thumb for competitive FPS titles of this generation:

• Meeting the minimum requirements (GTX 1060 3GB plus 16GB of RAM) puts you at the "it boots and you can play" line
• If you want stable, high frame rates on a 144Hz-or-faster high-refresh monitor, a mid-range GPU several generations newer than the GTX 1060 paired with a Core i5/Ryzen 5-class CPU or better gives you comfortable headroom
• We will add real measured FPS figures for SAZ to this article as soon as testing after the Early Access launch makes them available

Reading the requirements part by part | CPU, GPU, memory, and storage

CPU | No generation or model number specified — anything recent is safe

The official FAQ lists only "Intel i3 series / AMD Ryzen 3 series," with no generation or model number specified. Performance varies drastically between generations even within the same Core i3 line, so a very old i3 may leave little headroom. Competitive FPS is a genre where CPU performance matters more the harder you push for high frame rates, so if you are buying a PC now, going with a Core i5/Ryzen 5-class CPU or better is the safe pick.

GPU | The GTX 1060 3GB is a mid-range GPU from 2016

The GTX 1060 is a GPU released in 2016, which makes this requirement quite light compared with recent AAA shooters. Part of the original Sudden Attack's popularity came from running smoothly even on low-spec PCs, and SAZ appears to be aiming for a similarly broad range of hardware.

Note that no equivalent AMD Radeon model is officially specified. Radeon users will need to read this as "a mid-range card at or above the GTX 1060's class" and judge accordingly.

Memory | The 16GB requirement is the most common stumbling block

While the CPU and GPU requirements are light, memory alone has a 16GB minimum. The 8GB configurations that were standard a few years ago fall short here. If your PC has 8GB, consider adding memory or upgrading.

Storage | Just 6GB of space required — SSD recommended

The required free space is 6GB or more — remarkably light in an era when 100GB-plus shooters are not unusual. The game runs from an HDD, but the official FAQ recommends an SSD. For faster startup and loading, we recommend installing to an SSD.

OS and DirectX | Windows only, 64-bit required

The supported OS is Windows 10 (as listed on the Steam store page), and a 64-bit processor and operating system are required. Windows is the only supported platform; macOS and Linux are not supported. There is no official statement regarding Windows 11 at this time, and the required DirectX version is also unpublished. We will update this article as soon as either is confirmed.

Tips for smooth play | The frame rate cap is 200 FPS

SAZ is a highly competitive FPS where counter-strafing and first-shot accuracy matter, and higher frame rates make spotting enemies and tracking with your aim more stable. Official Dev Note #7 (March 2026) raised the frame rate cap to a maximum of 200 FPS, and the in-game frame rate limit can be set anywhere from 80 to 200 (as of the Final CBT; we will note any changes in the release version).

• If your monitor is 144Hz or faster, the basic approach is to tune your graphics settings so your FPS stays consistently above the refresh rate
• Because the cap is 200 FPS, a 180–240Hz monitor is the sweet-spot purchase (a 360Hz-class monitor would go to waste)
• If your FPS falls short, you can compensate on the settings side, such as dropping graphics to Medium. See best settings and sensitivity guide for recommended values per setting
• A known issue has been reported where FPS drops with G-SYNC set to "Windowed and Full Screen Mode," so if you use G-SYNC, setting it to "Full Screen Mode only" is the safe choice

Notes for laptops and older PCs | Anti-cheat and the 64-bit requirement

If your security software flags the game during installation or the game fails to launch, suspect a conflict with the anti-cheat first. Known launch issues and workarounds are covered in our best settings and sensitivity guide.

If you plan to play on a laptop, check the following:

• Discrete GPU: a laptop with integrated graphics only does not meet the official GTX 1060 3GB requirement. A gaming laptop with a discrete GeForce/Radeon GPU is the baseline
• 16GB of memory: some gaming laptops ship with 8GB, so confirm yours has 16GB or more
• 64-bit environment: a 64-bit processor and OS are required, so older 32-bit environments will not run the game

When considering a used or older PC, checking the same three points — 64-bit, 16GB of RAM, and a GPU at or above the GTX 1060's class — will tell you whether it clears the bar.

Choosing a PC by tier | Entry, mid-range, and high-end

Because SAZ's requirements are light, an expensive gaming PC is not a must. We recommend working backwards from how you want to play SAZ and thinking in three tiers.

If SAZ is your main game, mid-range is the best value. With the frame rate capped at 200 FPS, there are many situations where a high-end GPU cannot stretch its legs, and putting the savings toward a better monitor or mouse does more for your win rate in gunfights.

If you are buying a new PC, a prebuilt gaming PC with a well-balanced parts configuration is a solid, safe choice. We plan to add specific recommended builds and models for SAZ to this article once we have verified performance after Early Access begins.
