Sudden Attack Zero Point (SAZ) launches free-to-play on Steam on Thursday, July 30, 2026. It is not a paid title, so once it goes live you just hit "Play" on Steam and you're in.

The game also ships with Japanese support, and it can be downloaded from Japan without any issues. This article covers what you can do right now, before launch, and what the steps look like on the day.

The short version | You only need three things

What you needDetails
A Steam accountFree. If you don't have one, create it at Steam
A Windows 10 64-bit PCRequirements below. GTX 1060 3GB and 16GB of RAM are the benchmark
6GB or more of free spaceThe free disk space listed in the official FAQ

There is no cost. It's free-to-play, with in-game item purchases.

What to do before launch

1. Wishlist it on Steam

Right now, a wishlist entry is the only official channel there is. Once wishlisted, Steam notifies you the moment the game goes live. Open the SAZ Steam store page and hit "Add to your wishlist" in the upper left.

The SAZ Steam store page, showing the "Add to your wishlist" button and a planned release date of July 30, 2026

The store page shows a planned release date of July 30, 2026 along with a countdown to unlock. In game, the interface, voice, and subtitles are all available in Japanese as well.

2. Check that your PC meets the requirements

These are the system requirements published in the official FAQ.

ItemRequirement
OSWindows 10 64-bit
CPUIntel Core i3 series / AMD Ryzen 3 series
GPUNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB
Memory16GB
Storage6GB or more of free space (SSD recommended)

By modern FPS standards this is quite light. The one line that trips people up is 16GB of RAM, so if you're on 8GB, look into an upgrade. For the full breakdown, see System requirements and recommended specs.

3. Know how the anti-cheat works

SAZ uses a kernel-level anti-cheat called "Nexon Game Security." This is stated explicitly on the Steam store page.

The SAZ Steam store page notices: "Uses kernel-level anti-cheat: Nexon Game Security — manual removal required after uninstalling the game" and "Requires agreement to a 3rd-party EULA"

What to do on July 30

  1. Launch Steam
  2. Open the SAZ store page (if you wishlisted it, you can jump there from the notification)
  3. Hit "Play Game" to add it to your library
  4. Once the download finishes, launch it

Because it's a free-to-play Steam title, there is no checkout step.

If you played the Final CBT

If you took part in the Final CBT from July 9 to 13, you should still have "Sudden Attack Zero Point Playtest" sitting in your Steam library.

The "Sudden Attack Zero Point Playtest" entry left in a Steam library. With the test over, only uninstall is available

That is a separate test-only entry, and it no longer launches (the Final CBT ended at 18:59 JST on July 13). The Early Access build on July 30 ships separately, so you'll be adding it fresh from the store page. Feel free to delete the Playtest entry.
