Rules | One side plants, the other defuses
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Attackers | Plant the C4 at a designated site (A/B) and hold it until it detonates to win |
| Defenders | Win by preventing the plant, or by defusing a C4 that has already been planted |
| Format | Round-based. Once you go down in a round, there is no respawn |
| Match structure | Two best-of-5 sets with attack and defense swapped (verified in-game) |
The rules are simple, but the heart of the mode is that once you die, you are out until the next round. A single player going down puts your team down a body, so every single gunfight carries weight. The level of caution it demands is different from a gunfight-driven mode like Team Deathmatch.
What actually wins rounds
- Counter-strafing (stopping): your shots spread if you fire while moving. Coming to a stop before you shoot is the baseline, and it is what decides who wins the exchange (best settings and sensitivity guide)
- Sound information: with no respawns, reading the enemy's numbers and positions from footsteps is worth a lot. Earphones with good positional audio are effectively part of your kit
- Throwables: cutting sightlines with smokes and flashbangs lets you turn a man-down situation around (secondary, melee, and throwing weapons list)
What we will add after Early Access launches
The finer numbers, such as the round timer and how many seconds a plant or defuse takes, have not been published by Nexon. We will add them once we can verify them in-game after Early Access begins on July 30.
